Research environment: forest

Taxonomic group of interest: insects

Field of research: behavioural ecology, evolutionary ecology, functional ecology and food webs

Land use under investigation: forestry

Anthropogenic impact under investigation: climate change, invasive species

My research group aims to understand the role of natural selection in shaping the adaptive genetic and phenotypic variation in cooperative antipredator strategies and how ecological and social conditions shape the evolution of antipredator strategies and animal signalling. I am also leading a science education project 'Evolution in action' (Evoluutiopajat) which has own webpage with freely available teaching material considering biological interactions and evolution.
