Heidi Herlevi

Research environment: marine

Taxonomic group of interest: crustaceans, fish, molluscs

Field of research: biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, community ecology, disturbance ecology, ecosystem and species monitoring, functional ecology and food webs, population ecology

Anthropogenic impact under investigation: invasive species, population changes and species decline

My main research interests are the ecological implications of introduced species and how these introductions affect native species and communities. In my research focused on native and introduced species in coastal areas of the Baltic Sea, I am combining quantitative field-based observational data with qualitative stable isotope and DNA-based methods, as well as experimental work. Topics of interest: benthic ecology, community ecology, fish ecology, coastal ecosystems, non-native species, trophic interactions, structural and functional community change
