Research environment: freshwaters (including wetlands), marine

Taxonomic group of interest: fish

Field of research: population genetics

Anthropogenic impact under investigation: population changes and species decline

I investigate the roles of gene regulatory mechanisms in the divergence of species, populations and sexes. Presently I study Atlantic salmon with the overarching goal to link variation in life-history traits to gene regulatory evolution. Previously I have worked on conifer trees, yeasts and stickleback fish to elucidate the genetic architecture and molecular mechanisms of adaptive evolution.
