Taxonomic group of interest: bryophytes, vascular plants, others

Field of research: applied and restoration ecology, biodiversity history, biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, biogeography, community ecology, disturbance ecology, functional ecology and food webs, paleoecology, population ecology

Land use under investigation: drainage, forestry

Anthropogenic impact under investigation: climate change, population changes and species decline

I am a palaeoecologist with extensive experience in reconstructing past environmental changes from lake and peat sediment archives. My special expertise is the plant macrofossil method. My current research interest is to investigate ecosystem responses to climate and environmental change and associated biogeochemical feedback mechanisms. The motto is “Past is the key to understanding the future”.
