My research has focused during past two decades on cyclic population fluctuations of herbivores (voles and birch-feeding moths) in Fennoscandia, using both experimental, observational and theoretical approaches when searching for explanations. Currently, I also work on the project studying biology of the hard ticks (Ixodes ricinus and Ixodes persulcatus) and tick-borne pathogens in Finland.
